100 days until the voters decide

It is 100 days until the voters decide who will run Ealing council for the next 4 years. In recognition of this Labour volunteers will be out talking to residents across the Borough discussing Labour’s plans if we are re-elected.

Labour have already launched our pledge card with our top five priorities for the council. They are:

1. Keep council tax low with a fifth consecutive council tax freeze next year.

2.  Continue to campaign to save our hospitals from Tory cuts, including a blue light service at Ealing & Charing Cross A&Es

3. Install new CCTV, alley gates and street lighting in crime hotspots.

4. Make Ealing cleaner, including 50% recycling by 2018.

5. Build at least 500 new council homes and create 500 apprenticeships for young people.

Cllr Julian Bell labour’s leader said:

“The choice for residents of the Borough is clear. They can vote for a Labour Council that, in the teeth of £87m Tory led government cuts, has delivered a council tax freeze for the last four years and will freeze it again in 2015; has improved local services, whilst protecting the most vulnerable and invested in our schools, town centres and housing estates; and has campaigned to Save our Hospitals and will continue to fight for real A&Es with blue light ambulances at Ealing and Charing Cross.

Alternatively they could vote for the Tories who will continue to cut budgets and services to the most vulnerable whilst delivering cheaper services to those most well off and who will close our local A&Es and Hospitals after claiming to have saved them. It really isn’t a difficult choice.”
