Hodan is one of the first British Somali women to stand to be a local councillor in Ealing. As a British Somali Muslim woman, she is passionate about ensuring that the voices of underrepresented groups have a voice in local politics. particularly passionate about improving schools, keeping communities safe, creating opportunities for young people and reducing inequality.
Hodan has worked in Education for 13 years and is passionate about working with children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). She has also worked in the NHS as a speech and language therapy assistant
