Harbhajan Dheer has served as a councillor since 2010 and has lived in the borough since 1982.
Harbhajan has spent her time as a councillor giving back to the local community in various ways. Whilst Mayor, Harbhajan raised approximately £22,000 for various charities including Aid UK, Home Start and Save the Elephant. She has also served as a member and chair of scrutiny panels and school governing bodies. During the COVID pandemic, Harbhajan helped identify vulnerable residents for food aid and personally delivered medicine to a number of isolated elderly residents.
