Ilayda Nijhar was born and raised in Ealing. Her whole life has been shaped by Ealing: she went to school in Pitshanger, she learnt to swim at Gurnell Leisure Centre, attended the dance academy on Pitshanger Lane and performed at concerts at St Barnabas Church. Ilayda’s experiences have made her passionate about all things local, as the issues that the community faces are personal to her. She is particularly passionate to ensure the community has equal access to resources like Pitshanger Library and to quality neighbourhood services at Copley Close.
